Arrive at Gdansk International Airport where you will be met by your Polish tour guide

Transfer by coach to your accommodation in Gdansk and check-in for a 4-night stay on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis

Visit of the Old Town Gdansk – the maritime and amber capital of Poland, also known as the town of Lech Walesa whose solidarity movement overthrew communism.

Visit of the Old Town: The Old Town of Gdansk is lined up with richly ornamented old merchant houses including the Gothic town hall housing the Historical Museum of Gdansk and the Artus Court -the heart of cultural and commercial life in the old Gdansk. The symbol of Gdansk is The Neptune Fountain. The Crane on the Motlawa river was the biggest port crane in the medieval Europe. The Gothic St. Mary`s Church is the largest old brick church in Europe.

Day 3

Continue of the visit of Gdansk: the Shakespeare Theatre built on the site where, in the 17th century, there was the only Elizabethan type theatre building outside of the British Islands. Then a memorial to the shipyard workers killed in the 1970’ riots, a symbol of the fight for freedom.

The Gdansk Shipyard area, The European Solidarity Centre -. It is a museum that commemorates the revolution of Solidarity and the fall of communism in Europe.

Westerplatte – WWII – it is where on the 1st September, 1939, at 04:47 AM, WWII kicked off when a German Panzer ship “Schleswig-Holstein”, supposedly in Polish waters on a goodwill visit, fired on Polish troops stationed on this peninsula.

After lunch cruise on the sea by the stylished boat GALEON

Drive to Sopot – On the way stop in Oliwa district to discover the Oliwa Cathedral with the famous organ. Organ concert in the cathedral. Continue to Sopot – the most famous spa and seaside resort known for fantastic Art Nouveau eclectic villas from the 19th and 20th century. One of the Sopot`s attractions is the longest wooden pier [512 m].

Depart for Malbork (1 hour drive), visit to the castle in Malbork (2,5 hours)

Malbork– the biggest medieval castle in Europe [registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List].

The stronghold consists of a group of 13th – 15th century Gothic fortified edifices. Now as a

museum, it contains a gallery of medieval sculpture, collection of 15th – 17th cent. weapons,

collection of amber etc

Torun – one of the most magnificent historic cities in Poland and a birthplace of Copernicus the great Polish astronomer. The most impressive 13th century Town Hall, churches and just magnificent Old Town square – nominated to the list of heritage treasures by UNESCO.

Poland, Palace of Culture and Science : Completed in 1955 as a ‘gift from the Soviet people’, the building is the embodiment of Socialist Realist architecture. It is still the tallest building in Poland.

Pedestrian part: tour of the Old Town; charming labyrinth of alleys bordering with churches.

Gothic polychrome frontage residences, St. John’s Cathedral, the Market Square. Visit of the Royal

Castle– since 1595 the royal residence, then the seat of the Polish president, after the reconstruction became the museum and the scene of the gala receptions. Next drive along the Royal Route – the most representative thoroughfare in the city, linking the Royal Castle with palaces in Łazienki and Wilanów.

Visit of Warsaw: The Royal Park Łazienki. This is a part of the complex of buildings consisting of the Royal baths, palaces and the park. The Palace on the Water and the Theatre on the Island are most enchanting. The first being the summer residence of the last Polish king

*Museum of the History of Polish Jews Polin; POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews : It tells the 1000-year-long-history of Poles and Jews. It enchants with its extraordinary symbolic architecture as well as the exhibition itself, which includes a richly ornamented replica of the vault of a 17th-century synagogue. Located in the centre of the former Jewish district and the place of the most intense battles of the Ghetto Uprising in 1943.

*Warsaw Rising Museum: Rising Museum. This is one of the most modern museum in Poland devoted to the biggest destruction Warsaw ever faced, burned to ashes by Nazis after the Warsaw Uprising. Nowhere else you will understand the heroism of people of Warsaw, like here, followingepics fighting and everyday life of civilians during the Rising days

Free time in Warsaw or optional visit of the Wilanów Park-Palace Complex – is one of the most precious monuments of Polish Baroque. Built for King Jan III Sobieski at the end of the 17th century and gradually expanded by successive owners, it represents an unusual combination of a traditional Polish court with an Italian rural villa and a French chateau. The interiors of the palace, with their original design and decadent furniture, represent three style eras.

Visit of Krakow’s Historic Centre – on the UNESCO HERITAGE LIST since 1978. A morning visit to the Wawel Castle – the monument of Polish history and culture including: The Gothic Cathedral – the sanctuary of the nation and The Royal Castle a long-time center of political and cultural life of the country, decorated by the best artists from all over Europe like Bartolomeo Berecci etc. The centrepiece of the art collections is splendid assembly of Flanders tapestries.

Tour of Krakow’s Old Town with the Main Market Square with magnificent houses and palaces.

Visit includes the main sites of Kraków: the Main Market Square, with its’ historical monuments, numerous cafes, sound of bugle call from Basilica Mariacka and music played by street players lays a spell on visitors. Entrance to St. Mary’s Church situated on the Main Square which is the biggest medieval square in Europe. In the middle of the square you will see Sukiennice, magnificent Renaissance building where the clothes were used to be sold. Now it is the biggest souvenir market in.

Following the footsteps of the film Schindler’List: Drive to Podgórze district, discovery of the the Ghetto Heroes Square, Visit of the Pharmacy POD ORŁEM: through traditional and multimedia displays, and extensive testimonials from both Poles and Jews, heartrendingly describes life in the Kraków Ghetto.

Next Guided visit of the EMALIA: Schindler’s Factory. Housed in the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler factory, Emalia, is a museum that tells the story of Schindler and the Jewish prisoners of Plaszow who were the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s hit movie, “Schindler’s List.”

Auschwitz-Birkenau : German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp

(1940-1945) – on the UNESCO HERITAGE LIST since 1979 The fortified walls, barbed wire, platforms, barracks, gallows, gas chambers and cremation ovens show the conditions within which the Nazi genocide took place in the former concentration and extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest in the Third Reich.

Return to Krakow.

Day 10

MORNING

Departure to the rafting down the Dunajec river gorges, one of the most important attractions in southern Poland. The towering cliffs and the limestone rock formations of the gorge itself as well as the picturesque mountain scenery, the surrounding national forest and the colourful river guides make for a wonderful day in a pristine and wild environment.

Then drive to Zakopane (1h). Arrival to Zakopane, a mountain resort nestled at the foot of the Tatra mountains and boasting of breathtaking views of Poland’s only alpine peaks. Zakopane is popular thanks to its splendid natural scenery, a rich folk culture and the charming wooden architecture.

Arrival to the city. Walk along Krupówki, , lined with restaurants, cafes, boutiques and souvenir shops

Discovery of the Collegium Maius:

The Collegium Maius, built as part of the Jagiellonian University, is the oldest surviving university building in Poland, and one of the best examples of 15th-century Gothic architecture in the city. It has a magnificent arcaded courtyard and a fascinating university collection.

On the tour the guide will show half-a-dozen historic interiors, featuring rare 16th-century astronomic instruments used by star pupil Copernicus, as well as some of his manuscripts; a fascinating alchemy room; old rectors’ sceptres; and, the highlight of the show, the oldest existing globe (c 1510) depicting the American continent. Also visit an impressive Aula, a hall with an original Renaissance ceiling, and crammed with portraits of kings, benefactors and rectors of the university (five of whom were sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp in 1939).

Walk through Jewish District including interactive stops, stories and anecdotes: * Jewish quarter before the war, * Helena Rubinstein and her cosmetic empire,

* Schindler´s List movie filming, *What Prince Charles has in common with Kazimierz, * Kladka Bernatka bridge.

The walk starts by the distribution of lockets. Participants write the massage on the lockets and hang it on the bridge. Then passage through Kazimierz including the Courtyard used for „Schindler’s List” movie location.

The last stop: tasting of local specialty: ZAPIEKANKA at the famous Plac Nowy

OPTION: “sail on Krakow’s vaporetto” (the wooden boats) across the Vistula. Arrive by boats to the Jewish Quarter
